At Christianshøjkroen, we — Nikolaj and Sofie — welcome you warmly

We took over Christianshøjkroen and Kyllingemoderenin 2023, the same year we moved into the inn. For us, it’s a way of life to open the doors, welcome you, and ensure you have a lovely and relaxing experience here in the forest.

I, Nikolaj, am not only your host but also the chef. Together with our fantastic kitchen team, I make sure the food at the inn is prepared with care and respect for the ingredients. We select our produce with a focus on high quality, local roots, and a deep concern for nature, nourishment, and the environment. It’s important to us that the kitchen has a clean and simple expression. We build on traditional cooking techniques — with attention to both the details and the overall experience. I trained at Kommandanten (which held two Michelin stars), and previously ran Restaurant Ensemble in Copenhagen (which had one Michelin star). After those earlier experiences in the culinary world, I’ve developed a simpler and more personal approach to food. That said, I never compromise on quality.

I look forward to welcoming you.

I, Sofie, am a host with a capital “H.” My heart beats for this place, its history, and the surrounding forest — and for letting the inn reflect and harmonize with the peace found in its setting.

I’ve taken the liberty of rethinking the interior design of the inn, as I want to create a homely, cozy, and unique atmosphere. It’s important to me that you feel welcome and that the inn’s rooms invite rest, indulgence, and a break from the demands of everyday life. I do my best to help you relax and to prioritize togetherness, enjoyment, and meaningful moments.

To me, the whole experience matters. I cherish the idea that your visit to Christianshøjkroen also gives you a chance to enjoy the changing seasons in the forest and the historical spirit of Christianshøj.

Historically, I have a personal connection to Christianshøj — my great-grandfather, Johannes Theodor Lyngby, owned Christianshøjpavillonen (Christianshøjkroen) and Hotel Jomfrubjerget, and also built Almindingspavillonen (Kyllingemoderen) as a community house in the early 1900s.

I love hearing your many memories and stories from Christianshøj — and I look forward to welcoming both new and returning guests.

We look forward to seeing you at Christianshøj.

Warm regards,
Sofie Edlev Nielsen & Nikolaj Jeppesen
